Start your day with your choice of tea or coffee, indulge in cereal, fruit juice, yoghurts with fruit purée, fresh fruit cup and freshly baked pastries. Follow on with a full (or partial) English Breakfast prepared using local farm produce. Alternatively, you may prefer one of our classic egg dishes such as ‘Eggs Benedict’, ‘Eggs Royale’ or ‘Eggs Florentine’ served with warm, home-made Hollandaise sauce. We also do a ‘Full Vegetarian’ Breakfast, which is also available as a vegan option. Finish it off with toast and a selection of local honey and home-made jams (strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry) with ingredients from our vegetable garden – and you will be prepared to face whatever the day may have in store.
Present Covid Precautions and beyond…
As part of our COVID precautions, we offer our guests the option to dine in their bedroom or downstairs in one of our dining rooms. Which dining room you will be in depends on a number of factors including the size of your group, whether your group constitutes a “bubble” and the time you want to eat. Taking these considerations into account we will ensure that you are distanced from anyone outside of your “bubble” and minimise contact with others.
We have replaced the breakfast table (previous guests will recall our beautiful twin pedestal walnut dining table which made meals in this room a shared experience) with five square tables each 90cm x 90cm, which is considerably larger than most restaurants offer. So now you can enjoy your meals without feeling obliged to talk with other diners, although this is still encouraged.
